Nibali Not Bothered Over Struggles At Oman Tour

Vincenzo Nibali might have lost out at the recently concluded Oman Tour but the defending Tour France champ is quite confident about another glorious stint in the upcoming 2015 Tour de France.

While asked whether poor form might cast a gloomy stance in the biggest annual cycling event, Nibali simply brushed off all doubts.

“What does it signify for Tour? Well, it implies just nothing. Now, it is February and the event is in July”, remarked Nibali.

“It is just different with cyclists who would have different situations and thus it does not carry any meaning. If one is talking about the classics, the spring events, then yes, yet it’s a NO for Tour.”

It was Alberto Contador who won the Alto Hazallanas stage at the race. This seaso9n, the Spaniard would try to triumph at both Giro Italia & Tour France. Chris Froome also had a good stint at the Oman Tour.

The sole Grand Tour hero not participating at the Oman Tour is Quintana (Nairo) from Movistar who is looking forward to a Tour France title after his dramatic win at 2014 Giro Italia last year. He would commence his season next month at Tirreno-Adriatico in Italy.

Nibali came up with improved performance in the last 3 years. He triumphed at Green Mountain in 2012 & 2014.

“I feel that I am in a better shape in comparison to what I was last year”, continued the Tour France 2014 hero.

Last year, Nibali was passing through a bad phase with no win till June. But the situations changed during Critérium Dauphiné & after a week as he won Italian road racing. After that it was quite a dramatic time for Nibali as he surprised everyone with his remarkable win at 2014 Tour France.
