Giordana Velodrome Selected As The Cycling Venue For USA Cycling Championship

Rock Hill city and Giordana Velodrome are going to host one of the most popular national cycling championships called the US Cycling Elite Track National Championships. US Cycling is the organizer for this event and a series of many other national championships that take place throughout the country. This year the cycling championship is going to take place from the 12th of August to 17th of August, 2014.
Everyday from the 12th to 17th of August (Tuesday to Sunday), warm-up sessions for the cyclists have been organized in the morning (8am) and evening (5:30pm). This means that the warm-up sessions will start one hour before the main events of the championship begin each day in the morning and evening.
Events such as Madison, Keirin, Match Sprints, Miss and Out, Point Races, Scratch Races, Individual Pursuits and so on are included in the US Cycling Elite Track National Championships.
Cyclists who are going to compete in this event include US National Track team members, top ranked cyclists and national champions belonging to the different parts of the country.
The different races taking place during the cycling championships can be viewed by the public as the admission for audiences is free. Food, drinks and beverages will also be made available to the public. However the spectators would have to pay for food, drinks and beverages. An area of Race Expo will be open for the audiences on the 15th and 16th of August, 2014.
Rock Hill cycling coordinator- Thad Fischer said that in case during any of the event days it starts to rain then the events will not be cancelled but will be postponed because this is a national cycling championship and it cannot be compromised at any cost. Along with that, Fischer added that the tracks usually take around 20 minutes to dry out completely.
