Thomas Voeckler aims the UCI Road World Championship
Thomas Voeckler had a great season in 2012 and was convinced that he could win the World Championships held in Limburg, Holland. In fact most of the people considered Voeckler to be the UCI Road World Champion. He was looking good until Gilbert put up a terrific show in the last 2 kilometres of the race to deny Voeckler from getting the victory. Edvald Boasson secured the second spot followed by Alejandro Valverde. Voeckler finished at the seventh place while the fourth, fifth, and sixth position were claimed by John Degenkolb, Lars Bloom, and Allan Davis respectively.
